I hope someone can help me. I run a school network in the UK and am trying to deploy a vbs script which shuts down the PC and warns the user that this event will happen in five minutes.
The script runs fine when you place it in the root of c: drive. I have create a schedule task manually on the PC and ran it as my domain user account and save the password so it works when either not logged in or logged in ( I want it to work regardless of which student or teacher is logged in or if no one is logged in).
However I replicate the scheduled task in GPP under Computer Configuration/Preferences/Control Panel Settings/Scheduled tasks and update the group policy on the dc and even run gpdate /force on the client but when I look at the scheduled task on the client the task refuses to appear. The event viewer windows logs for system show 4 group policy items applied successfully.
Any ideas?
