Hi,
Running Windows Server 2008 R2 Domain Controllers, Windows 7 Pro and XP Pro workstations. The Windows 7 Pro systems are 64-bit, if that makes a difference.
I installed a new networked printer, shared off of a Windows 2008 R2 print server, installed both 64-bit and 32-bit printer drivers. Setup printer to be deployed using a group policy.
Next time all the XP systems booted they received the new printer with out a hitch. But on the Windows 7 computers the only way I seem to be able to get the printer to install is by logging in as the domain admin and running a GPUpdate with the force option. Doing this to all my workstations seems to defeat the purpose of deploying using group policy.
Is there another way to force this update? I thought it would happen automatically during boot but it's been two days now and most of these computers have been rebooted a few times. How do I know when the GP has been refreshed on the network? I would have thought it would happen pretty frequently.
Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance,
Linn
