I'm currently updating our default domain policy to the 2008R2 schema and have a query regarding the internet settings. I have configured the settings for IE7 via User Configuration > Preferences > Control Panel Settings > Internet Settings, then right clicked and selected new > internet explorer 7 so i have an entry for IE7 with the appropriate settings.
We still have to use IE7 due to certain applications used in the health service.
My question is, what happens to any machines that have IE8/9 installed on? Do they just filter out the settings or do they attempt to apply them?
Also, is there a way to copy the policy and apply it to IE8 rather then going new > internet explorer 8 and putting the same settings in again? You can right click and copy and paste but it's still an IE7 policy.
