I am working with Windows Server 2003, and Windows 7 Pro 64 bit and Windows Pro XP machines. I am attempting to uninstall Java 1.5.17 through a script (with a GP named Java Uninstaller), and then install Java 1.6.17(with a GP software installation policy- Java Installer). The script runs successfully and uninstalls the 1.5.17. Java 1.5.17 was not pushed down through GP. I then have the Java Installer set to run, which it tries, but stops. I checked the event logs and it doesn't mention the Java installation, but the uninstaller was sucessful. I check Add/Remove programs and Java 1.6.17 is showing(but it is not fully installed). When I try to remove the Java 1.6.17, I get a regutils.dll error. When I run resultant of policy, it shows the installer policy applied successfully. Before and After I run a java remover tool for 1.6.17, I navigate the direct path to the .msi file of the shared folder, and it executes, and installs Java 1.6.17 fine. Any ideas?
