FGPP expiration notification

I created a FGPP and applied it to the security group that needed it.    When I check the msDS-ResultantPSO attribute of the users in the group I see the value of the PSO applied.  Tested and lockout threshold hold works, password notification works.  What I'm confused on is that when I test on a win 03 box I get the password notification, but when I log onto a win 7 or 08 box I don't get the expiration notification.    I've read that pw notifications on 7 and 08 appears when its 5 days till expiration.  Can someone clarify? Any insight into this would be great.  thanks.
