We are running a windows server 2003 (sp2) as a domain controller. By mistake and while trying to set some software installation restrictions for users, one of our technicians opened gpedit.msc and edited the settings in a way that the administrator of the server cannot run/open any programs or open gpedit on the server as everything gives the error “This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect of this computer”.
Specifically and from what he remembers, in the Group Policy Property he enabled “Always install with elevated privileges” and “Run only allowed Windows applications”. I ve tried running cmd, loggin with a different account as well as going into safe mode but again nothing changes.
How can we fix this?
