Windows 2012 DFS file server in Windows 2008 R2 domain

Hi Guys, I set up a Windows 2012 test file server in my Windows 2008 R2 domain which is on Windows 2008 (not R2) domain and forest functional level.

I configured DFS, all domain admins and domain users can map to \\domain.local\fileserver via group policy.

But only domain admins can get their H drives via gpo, which is located at \\domain.local\fileserver\personal folders\%username%

For some reason I just can't get a domain user to get the H drive via gpo, unless I make the user a member of domain admins. I've gone through share and NTFS permissions, although the personal folders reside on a ReFS partition but I don't think that matters.

What else should I check?
