I was wondering if someone could help me out with Windows 10 Group Policy. I have my Windows 10 1607 Education Image almost ready to roll here but we are testing out Group Policy with it now. I am a bit disappointed in some lack of options I am having trouble finding and I was hoping someone could steer me in the right direction. I've done countless hours of searching and I haven't been able to find some clear cut answers for the following issues.
1. "Settings" Is it possible to just clearly hide some categories in the "Settings" menu, I cannot see a scenario where our students would be playing around with things like Network & Internet, Accounts, Windows Update, ect.
2. If 1 is not possible, why is selecting "Users can’t add or log on with Microsoft accounts"not working OR not greyed out completely. While an MS account doesn't work for sign in, any other account like a yahoo or gmail clearly works without an issue even if this policy is set.
3. We specify a Proxy in the "Internet Settings" via control panel that is locked down from our Staff/Students from changing. However, you can simply go into Proxy via the "Settings" menu and simply turn off the proxy without even batting an eye (and I can confirm it disables our proxy). I just want to disable this Tab completely if #1 is not an option or just grey the whole thing out for our users.
4. VPN in Settings. Our networking students are savvy sometimes and have personal VPN's setup at home. Why cannot I disable/grey out this setting completely in GPO?
5. How can I hide "Windows Update" in Settings? I have a SCCM/WSUS server setup here so our updates are pushed internally. I cannot find a clear cut answer on greying out the Windows Update or hiding it via Windows 10. Group Policy makes it seem like it will completely disable Windows Update all together and has no clear cut just hiding the thing.
