We are in the process of prepping for a domain migration where we are migrating everyone from one forest to another one. As part of this migration, we need to migration Group Policies. From what I have understood and tested is that you backup the GPOs
from one forest to a folder then you copy that folder to the new forest and if you are using the GPMC snapin GUI, you have to manually create a new GPO for each one that exist in the old forest then select import then go to the GPO backup folder and then select
the GPO you want to import.
The main issue is we need to migrate approx 200-250 GPOs and having to create each one manually and import the settings manually will take a long time. Is there an easy way to automate this process? ALso, we will be keeping the same OU structure, is there a way to take a snap shot from the old domain of where they are linked to and then rerun that script to map it to the new forest same OU structure so we do not have to link them manually?
