I've searched around all day before deciding to start another thread on this topic. No matter how I configure my GPP drive maps, the first one does not map. I've even gone as far as having all my drive maps map the same share, all of them map but the first one. My config is replace, reconnect is not checked (as i'm using replace), I have a label set, run in logged-on user's sec context is checked, remove this item when it's no longer applied is checked, and an item level target that evaluates a single group membership. I also have "Always wait for the network at computer startup and logon" enabled, "Process even if the Group Policy objects have not changed" enabled, and "Startup policy processing wait time" enabled and set to 20 seconds. The 20 seconds is for something else that is not currently being applied or in the picture. I've removed it and still have the issue.
With that said, I'll continue the discussions using my current setup of 2x drive maps that attempt to map the same share with different drive letters and labels. The only drive map that works is #2. I'm using a win7 x64 VM and snapshots to test (UAC is disabled). I get the same results with my test user in the local admin group and not in the local admin group. gpresult \h blah.html shows 'Result: Failure (Error Code: 0x800704d0)' for the drive map #1, and the event viewer shows Event ID 4098 "The user 'R:' preference item in the 'myGPO {67B83735-09A2-48DB-A16B-D0B6667F1E0A}' Group Policy object did not apply because it failed with error code '0x800704d0 The network location cannot be reached. For information about network troubleshooting, see Windows Help.' This error was suppressed."
How is that possible, both drive maps #1 and #2 are mapping to the same share? I did start out with #1 and #2 mapping different shares, I still get the same results where only #2 works.
