How to change the GPO Version number?

Hi.. I have a program which modifies Account policies, Password policies directly in GptTmpl.inf. But if i do like that, GPO Version number is not getting updated.. Should i programatically change GPT.ini file to change the version number? or else any API available to change the version number?

If there is no API, should i follow any guidelines to update the GPO Version number in GPT.ini file? Kindly assist me.
