Issue:
At some point during logon the mouse becomes unresponsive and the cursor freezes in the middle of the monitor. If you unplug & plug it back in the mouse works again.
Observations:
It has been revealed that the mouse is actually freezing at logoff. It does not freeze when logging on after a restart or cold boot. This is affecting all Windows 7 Pro domain joined computers. WinXP and Win8 computers are unaffected. This happens on computers
connected to six different subnets, 10.21.x.x. But, is not an issue on subnet 10.6.0.x on the same domain.
All are governed by the same group policy. All other settings on the policy are applying correctly to all subnets.
Troubleshooting:
It has been revealed that when the ‘User Configuration’ portion of this Group Policy isn’t applied, the mouse functions normally.
Security Filtering is used, and contains a specific Security Group of all my users within the Link Enabled AD container. I believe an as yet undetermined setting within the ‘User Configuration’ portion of my policy is suspected to be causing the problem. But
I’ll be damned if I can find the setting!! Or, perhaps it’s improperly applied security filtering? But, if so. Why then is one subnet completly unaffected?
Help please?
Thank you in advance!
