Hello,
I have a client that has an SBS 2008. Two of their Windows 7 workstations do not lock after a period of inactivity. When I go into "Personalize > Screen Saver", I can select a screen saver and it *is* set to enable after 20 minutes and require a password, but while they are enabled, they are also greyed out.
I suspect this is set through a GPO, but I have looked through "All Settings" on all of the GPOs and cannot find any that deal with the screen saver settings.
I have created a GPO in the OU the workstation is a part of specifically for the screen saver settings, changing the timeout form 20 minutes to 10 minutes, and have forced a gpupdate and even rebooted, but no change, and the screen still does not lock after the specified 20 minutes.
I have also tried setting a local policy on the workstation for the screensaver, but same thing.
Is there some way to find out where this setting is being inherited from, and more importantly, allow the user to edit it themselves?
Thanks!:
