Remove registry key via GPO with 2008

Hi, I am having problems removeing a registry entry that gets created each time Word 2010 is run.

We have deployed some custom templates for Office 2010.  The registry key in question is HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Common\Spotlight\Content

This key and subkeys, is created when a custom template is used for the fist time, by referenceing a XML file which has the details of the template, preview and thumbnail pics.  Problem is, after it has initally referenced the XML file, it no longer looks at the XML next time as it creates this key and then proceeds to use the values stored there.  If the XML is updated with extra templates, the only way for Office to reference the XML again is to delete the key, which makes it then look at the update XML file, and thus recreating the keys.

I created a GPO to remove this key when we did our first round of updates, which worked perfectly.  Now I have a second round of updates, but GP doesn't remove the key as it did the first time.  How can I make it delete this key everytime?  There's an option in GP to "Apply once and do not reapply" which is set to "No", so one would assume that the key would be removed everytime GP's are processed, but it doesn't.

How can I have this key deleted everytime?  There doesn't seem any easy way to update custom template deployed to Office 2010.
