Hi Folks,

I am currently trying to create a Group Policy Object which is meant to enable certain services on the Windows clients in our environment and encountered the following error:

  • When the services are set to Manual, applying the GPO onto the clientsbrings the wanted change (service is starting)
  • When the services are set to Disabled, applying the GPO onto the clients does notbring the wanted change (disabled)

Is this some kind of a security reason or am I just doing something wrong with my configuration?

This problem occurs also when I am trying to apply this GPO on the same OS

  1. (My first try was set up on Windows Server 2012 and then applied on a Windows 10 machine)
  2. (My second try was set up on Windows Server 2012 and then applied on a Windows 7 machine)
  • All ended up with the same results as mentioned, the disabled services seem like they cannot be managed with GPO, so my questions is, has anyone of you ever encoutred something similar?

Kind Regards
