Using of Parent Domain Universal Security Group from child domain GPO Security Filter

Hello,

Trying to apply one GPO from child domain(child.test.local) to server computers help of security Filter. Security Groups is exists within parent Domain(test.local) and group scope would be "Universal" of type "Security"

When i was add that child domain client part of that group, policy settings not apply on that server.

But it worked when adding that client machine part of GPO security group directly. Hope GPO components should be there within domain scope if not wrong. 

So my ask is so simple.

Can we use parent domain SG within child domain GPO's.
