Wired network can only connect to the internal network, can not connect to the external network.
So whether the NCSI mechanism still works. Is NCSI triggered every time you connect to a wired network?
Grabbing netmon on a machine with a yellow exclamation point shows the DNS request to www.msftconnecttest.com.And response is name error.I understand it as normal.Because DNS server is Intranet IP.Unable to connect to external network for parsing. But other computers in the same environment did not have the yellow exclamation point problem.Fetching netmon also did not find NCSI's DNS request. In addition, after some troubleshooting, NGB was also not found when netmon was crawled again on the problematic computer. But there's also a yellow exclamation point. So my question is:
1. Under what circumstances will NCSI mechanism be triggered in win10
2. Is the yellow exclamation point problem I have encountered caused by the failure of NCSI request? There are other possibilities
The debugging has been done:
1, more reorganization strategy: computer configuration - management template - system -Internet communication management -Internet communication Settings - turn off the Windows network connection status indicator activity test configuration status;Change to disabled
2. Modify the host file to specify 127.0.0.1 as the IP address of www.msftconnecttest.com
3. Change the registry,
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Policies \ Microsoft \ Windows \ NetworkConnectivityStatusIndicator] "NoActiveProbe" = dword: 00000001
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SYSTEM \ CurrentControlSet \ Services \ NlaSvc \ Parameters \] Internet "EnableActiveProbing" = dword: 00000001
4. Because the user is in the domain environment, he is suspected to have the domain policy control, and he has tried to quit the domain operation
Above method all cannot solve yellow exclamation mark problem
