So all four of these machines (two physical and two virtual all running Windows 10 Enterprise) are on the domain (Windows Server 2016 Datacenter). Each one of these kicks back with the "the processing of group policy failed because of lack of network connectivity" message and event viewer shows "Network not started".
All of these machines can ping, remote desktop and see each other on the network through IP address and domain name but whenever group policy starts to update it gives me this message. I have removed both physical machines and rejoined them to the domain but still no luck. All of the physical machines have static IP addresses and this is a stand alone network that is not connected out to the internet and the two physical machines are connected to the domain through a small 8 port switch. Disabling all Group Policies gives me the same error and rsop.msc shows that only local policy is applied, nothing else.
I am at a loss and any help is useful.
