Hello Guru's,
So I can't manage Windows 7 IE10 via Group Policy Objects in a Server 2008 R2 environment without jumping through hoops it appears? However, I'm wondering if the reason is because we still have one 2003 Server DC just as a Global Catalog in our environment which we can retire at any time. My question is:
If I demote, remove and retire that machine, raise my functionality level to 2008 R2 Native, will that give me the functionality I need to manage Later versions of Internet Explorer, Windows 8 Machines as well as any 2012 client machines? Still a couple years away from needing Server 2012 I predict but is Microsoft forcing people to update their systems? I'd like to just apply a patch, updates and hotfixes to my 2008 R2 DC's and have them be able to manage IE10, Windows 8 machines as well as any 2012 Servers?
Would this be possible and be that easy?
Thank You,
Respectfully,
