Printers not always added with preference mode

Hi,

We add our shared printers through group policy's. We use the preference mode.

Now the users complain that the printers are not always added. I've done some research and I found that the preference mode is workingen when we use the connection\\server.domain.lan\Printername instead of\\server\printername.

Does anyone know how to solve this problem?
