Desktop, Favorites and Documents are being redirected to a file server.
There is about 400MB in the Mu Docs folder and about 40MB on the desktop.
I can understand a delay at first time sync or if major changes are made, but folder redirection is adding about 20 seconds to logon time even when I log on and then immediately log out and back on back to back with no file changes to sync. Many users have GBs of data in their redirected documents folders and if it is syncing much of this at every login, their login times will be very painful.
I thought Windows 7 was supposed to sync redirected folders in the background after the user logs in and not delay logons by syncing before showing the desktop?
Are there some GPO settings that need to be configured to optimize folder redirection syncing so there is minimal impact when the users log on?
