Hi All,
The background:
We have two domains; domain A and domain B. They are in separate forests but we have created a two-way trust relationship between them. The desktop computers that are members of domain A are frequently used by users from domain B. Loopback processing mode is enabled and is currently set to "Replace." We have not enabled the "Allow cross-forest user policy and roaming" GPO and, ideally, we don't want to.
The problem:
Shared printers are assigned using User Group Policy Preferences; the GPO that contains these settings is located in the same Organisational Unit as the computers in question. If a domain A user logs into a domain A desktop computer, the appropriate printers are installed as expected. However, if a domain B user logs into the same (or, indeed, any) domain A desktop computer, no printers are installed. Running "gpresult" as the domain B user on a domain A computer shows that the appropriate printer GPO is applied to the user, it just hasn't applied any printers. There are no errors in the event logs...
Any ideas as to where I should start looking?
Cheers,
Graeme
