I am using Computer based Group Policy Preferences (GPP) to deploy printers to an OU containing Windows 7 SP1 machines.
The printers deploy and function properly, however, every morning when users log back inin they must reset their default printer. I have tried both Replace and Update printer options, both require the user to set the default printer each morning.
Is there a way to make Windows remember what the default printer is when a user logs into their workstation the next day, with computer deployed printers?
I do not want to use user based GPP 'default printer' option. If I have no choice but to use the user based 'default printer' option, is there a way to force it to only work on specific printers? I don't want the printer to follow users to other buildings, etc.
