We've recently installed a 2008 R2 server and joined our PCs to the domain. Now productivity has plummeted as each click requires administrative credentials to get passed the "Open File - Security Warning". (I don't get how security is better when every user needs the administrator credentials.)
Even icons on the task bar and PSD files on the file server require painful extra steps.
I've spent days searching for a solution that can be implemented by way of normal administrative processes, and not a week-long visits to individual workstations to manually click hundreds of "unblock" properties. All I can find is a lot of people like me asking the same question. Surely there must be an administrator type solution for this. It's not acceptable that a person's Start Menu can launch such productivity killers.
