I have strange problem with our GPOs. We have domain with two DCs (Server 2008). There should not be problem with replication (gpotool, ad replication status tool, no errors in event log).
Sometimes when i add or remove software package from GPO and than I look to GPMC on settings tab of that GPO, it seems like no software should install (there are no packages shown) but when I edit that GPO I see them in corresponding part of computer configuration. Problem is that clients in corresponding OUs dont install new added software. Because they dont have reason for this. If I start rsop.msc or gpresult on dome client it doesnt show any packages to install from that GPO.
What I have to do to repair this situation is tu add some other package to GPO. That if I have luck is everything ok. But all clients reinstall all packages form that GPO (as if all packages has changed).
Second problem is that in one GPO are some packages and other GPO settings but client applies only settings no packages. In GPMC is everything visible (not like in first post) and seems ok. But if I backup that GPO and create new and import settings from that backup everything is ok. Setting are applied as well as packages installation.
So we have problem only with software installation part of our GPOs.
Do you have some clues? And sorry for my english.
