I've tried both as a shortcut and as file to get this desktop icon for our helpdesk to users desktops. It deploys fine but is a blank icon.
When using the file method the original file has the icon and appears fine. The copied file does not have any icon associated. I have no idea why it would REMOVE the icon from the file when it should essentially copy it as is?
Then with the shortcut method we specify a network location for the icon file that we can confirm the user has read access to and can browse/open the file. But the shortcut that appears is blank.
WTF is going on? There is nothing logged in either Application of the User Trace file of any issue.
