I'm deploying an application, through Group Policy, which does not automatically create firewall exceptions. To remedy this I use the GP Computer>Windows>Security>Windows Firewall group policy item to manually add the exceptions there. This solution works great.
The problem is that occasionally while troubleshooting problems I like to turn the firewall off on the local workstation. When deploying the firewall exceptions through group policy, it grays out the box to lower the firewall locally, so I have no way to
turn off the firewall.
Is there a way to deploy firewall settings that would still allow you to turn off the firewall on a local computer?
