Using GPO's with Server 2008 and windows 7

Hello everyone,

I am new to using GPOs, and seem to be having a problem. I was able to set it to use my WSUS server for updates, but i seem to be having a probleming doing the following:

setting up mapped drives,

setup the default home page for IE

Heres what i've done so far.

I made a new GPO called it (Mapped Drives) and linked it to my test OU. Then under
USer Config. ->Preferences -> windows settings -> drive maps

I created two maps, one for our shared docs share(\\servername\share docs

and  another for thier my documents share (\\servername\users\%logonuser%) NOTE: I pressed F3 to get the list of vairables to use in the location box.

I then ran GPupdate /force hoping i would see the new drive maps, they didn't show up. I also tried to reset my machine and the same thing is happening, no mapped drives are showing up. Did i do something wrong? I looked at the event logs on my local machine, and there was nothing about the mapped drives failing to connect.

The probem i am having with my default home page is similar, I made a new GPO called it "default home page"  but, looking at guides online, i didn't see the

user config -> policies -> Internet Explorer maintenance

But there is no "Internet Explorer maintenance", there is only "logon scripts, folder redirection, security settings, and policy based QoS"

I was able to find a setting "Disable changing the home page" and enabled it, and set it to the page i want it to, but again after running gpupdate /force and resetting my computer, my home page is not changing. Am i missing something in my steps? All the GPO's are link enabled.

can someone please help me.
