I have an interested problem: I have a Windows 2008 R2 Domain controller from which I am configuring Group Policy. I also have several Windows 7 Desktops that all load the Group Policy objects correctly.
When I run GPResult the Computer name is incorrect and it also shows a .Local domain which is not my domain.
My Windows 8.1 PC receives the following error upon running gpupdate /force
Computer policy could not be updated successfully. The following errors were encountered:
The processing of Group Policy failed. Windows could not resolve the computer name. This could be caused by one of more of the following:
a) Name Resolution failure on the current domain controller.
b) Active Directory Replication Latency (an account created on another domain controller has not replicated to the current domain controller).
User Policy update has completed successfully. Can anybody please shed some light on this.
