In the past I have used a group policy on Win Server 2k8 R2 that deployed printers based on the clients IP address, and it always worked wonderfully, no hiccups. Just recently though we wanted to create a new print server to help speed up the printing services. The role was added and the printers and drivers are added as normal.
The problem is when I go to deploy the printers on the new server, the policy is not being pulled down to the client (after updating the servers policy and replicating of course). At first I thought that it could be something with the printers on the new server, but I can add them manually just fine and print from them. To test I also just created a policy that would add the old printer object as it always has, and even that is not working! I am linking the policy to the correct location, but it just won't work.... Any ideas what a issue like this could be linked to and how I can go about fixing it?
