Group Policy Failure, Issue with redundant IE Maintenance settings

Hello All,

First time post so sorry if anything is not quite right.

I am currently working on a contract for a School where we have introduced a Server 2008 R2 DC and moved from the very slow and old Server 2003 R2 box. So far there have been some issue but we have managed to fix all these.

I have a niggling little issue around an old Group Policy (Note these we not set by me).

We have the Default Domain Policy and the previous Administrator in the wisdom put a LOT of items in this that would take quite some time to change, Whilst this is on my list of items to tackle I cannot spare the time to do them all at this time.

Currently the Group Policy has one failing item. This is as follows:

Internet Explorer BrandingFailed26/03/2014 11:15:31

Internet Explorer Branding failed due to the error listed below.

The specified procedure could not be found.

Additional information may have been logged. Review the Policy Events tab in the console or the application event log for events between 26/03/2014 11:15:31 and 26/03/2014 11:15:31.

I am aware this related to changes made on how IE is managed via Group Policy and now that IE 10 and onward has removed Internet Explorer Maintenance from GPO's.

What I would like to know as this is no longer present so change / remove these settings how can I remove this so my GP updates work flawlessly?

I had a poke around the Forums and Google but could not quite find the answer to this scenario so any advice would be greatly appreciated or if further information is required please let me know and I will be happy to provide this as long as it does not breach our security.

Regards,

Mike.
