Hello,
I've come across a strange oddity when I enable the GPO, "Prevent Changing Proxy Settings".
My environment is as follows:
- 3 DC's - 2 running Server 2012, 1 running Server 2003 R2 (pushing GPO's from Server 2012 DC)
- 2 sites
- DFL and FFL - Server 2003
We recently configured a webfilter in our domain. Created a GPO to point user's computers to a .pac file, pushed it out with no problems, webfilter was working great at this point. The problem started when we created a second GPO to prevent users from removing their proxy settings in Internet options. Enabled the, "Prevent Changing Proxy Settings" GPO, pushed it out and it worked fine. However within a day or so, we are unable to use any website or locally installed program that uses JavaScript. It's as if the last GPO is disabling everyone's JavaScript. I've tried reinstalling IE10, rolled back all the way to IE8, reset Internet Explorer from the advanced tab in Internet Options but to no avail. The only fix is to push out another blank GPO to overwrite the, Prevent Changing Proxy Settingswhich then brings us back to square one. Anybody of any clue why enabling this GPO would disable JavaScript or have a fix for this? Many thanks.
