Server is 2008R2 and clients are Win7
At my work we deploy printer drivers via group policy but when a client manages to corrupt one of the drivers it is a painful process to fix it. In order to delete the corrupt driver we add the specific system to the printer deployment group policy, set the group policy permissions for that specific system to Deny. Then we run a group policy update on the client. This removes the printers deployed via group policy. Once that is done we still have to delete the corrupt driver which is not always an easy process. (sometimes it will only delete when the spooler service is just starting) Once the driver is deleted we go back and remove the deny and the specific reference to that system in group policy. At this point we can restart the client and do another group policy update which will reinstall the driver. THERE HAS GOT TO BE A BETTER WAY!!
Please share any enlightening advice that may make this process less painful.
