This question was already posted...(http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsserver/en-US/7f68032f-9432-4cda-8970-b904aab3e89e/shorttime-setting-not-found-in-windows-2008-r2-gpo) but not answered correctly...

Control panel view

contains 2 entries for time format...

  • Short Time: for my users h:mm tt
  • Long Time: for my users H:mm

Note

  • The difference between Short time (12 hour clock)  and Long Time (24 hour clock).
  • my preferences are applying but only to Long Time not to Short Time.

Here's my GPO Preference Settings...

Only Time format is enabled (Yes it is green in the GUI marking it active)

  • Time (not short or long): H:mm

I origianally had it set to H:mm:ss but have since changed it to what is above. I tried shortening the Time format to exclude seconds (hh:mm:ss) since short time does not use it....It still does not propagate to the short time settings for the user (control panel/registry)

I can easily enough make an adm/admx file....but would rather not create an environment where I can set time parameters in 2x places within the same policy @ the same time. I have no clue how I could adjust the GPO preferences option. I would prefer to do that...and include short time as a configurable option.

any insight would be appreciated
