Registry.pol file not updating when GPO settings have changed.

Hi Everyone,

I've come across a very strange issue with Group Policy Replication. We're  currently running all 2008 R2 DC's , with 2003 Domain and Forest Functional Levels. SYSVOL replication is NTFRS at present.

We have a group policy object that specifies Home Page Settings. It was pointing to our old intranet. some time ago we changed it to our new intranet.

The problem we are having is that for some users at a particular AD Site, the old Homepage setting is still intact.

I have taken a peek into the Sysvol\domain\policies\POLICYGUID\Users\Registry.pol file on numerous DCs, ad it appears that the dc on this problem AD Site still have old settings (i.e when the policy settings were changed a while ago, the registry.pol file for this user policy settingn was not replicated. EVerything else has replicated successfully (e.g. gpt.ini file updated when gpo updated, scripts are added and removed successfully).

I wanted to know what steps I can take to ensure I can get the registry.pol file updated for the Group Policy in question without potentially breaking the policy.

Thanks in advance.

simon
