Hi,

Using Windows 2012 server.

I created a new .msi and I put it in a folder that is shared on the server. I edited the GPO for Computers > Software settings > software installation and pointed to the .msi.

It gave me a warning saying that it is not in a shared path over the network, however from the client side I can see the folder on the network.

I want this .msi to execute on login but it does not happen. I tried GPUpdate and I checked the permissions for the users.

The users are all in one group and the group has read/execute permissions.

How do I define a path to the folder in the environment under preferences?

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc772047.aspx

It says to use a semi-colon delimiter for each folder..the path is the one over the network or the local server?

Any help on how to troubleshoot this issue would be much appreciated. I think I am overlooking something really basic. I am very new to windows server.
