Dear All
I seem to have a simple issue which is on a very simple network. We have a Server 2011 Standard. I setup a small domain of 20 users all in different departments, so I used GPO linked to user security groups so if a person was a member of QA he would get a Drive Mapping if that same person was a member of both QA and Technical he would get both drive mapping QA and Technical ; so I had number of security groups setup for all the departments and then on for the whole company let’s say company.gpo this covered the security, internet, wallpaper etc.. All the above worked fine for every user I installed, regardless if they were on Windows XP or Windows 7 it worked and worked well no issue, 3 months down the line I decided to add two more people, using older computer which I wiped, installed XP Pro with SP3 all the software, updates etc.. I created the users and added them to their own security groups, I then joined the domain and they went straight on, except for the drive mapping, so we got all the security but no wallpaper and no drive mapping. The GPResult say they are denied due to security, but they have all the same setting as an existing user and are part of their same OU and Security Groups. I have tried removing the Computer from the domain, then ipconfig /flushdns, using dhcp and static ip address (all are PC use a static IP) ; I have removed the Computer from the OU and when I join the domain it rebuilds it, I checked all the DNS setting and DHCP setting setup on the server and it all seem right, I worked around by running a login script for the computer but I rather keep the GPO working.
Is this a known issue?
Do Microsoft or you guy have a work around or Fix?
Thanks
Nigel
