I setup a test OU with a policy redirecting the users desktop, my documents, and application data to folders on a server. In each setting I enabled the option for when the policy is removed, for it to move the stuff back to the local profile. So I went into the policy, set all three back to Not Configured, but I still see files being updated in the network paths the folders were redirected to. I did a gpresult /h before and after and it showed the policy was there, and is now not there. when i do a gpupdate /force still it asks if i want to logoff now to make the policies kick in, but then when I do stuff is still going to the network paths. The users redirected folders are only 20MB total, so I wouldn't think it'd take long to copy them back to the local machine, so it's not like it's a time issue.
In the event log, I have multiple event ID 510 warnings in the Application, possibly from every time i've logged back in on my test machine or did the gpupdate /force, only saying "Folder redirection policy application has been delayed until the next
logon because the group policy logon optimization is in effect." Then in the System log there is one that says it was unable to apply one or more settings because it must be done at system startup or user logon. Although I've restarted and
logged off multiple times, still getting these.
How can I see why it's not putting it into the c:\users folder on the local machine? If someone can tell me a few things to check, I can try them all.
Thanks.
