Hi Guys,
I am having problems mapping Printers through group policy.
I did the following.
1 - Installed Printer Drivers on Print Server and Shared it e.g. LH_PRN01
2 - Published Printer in AD.
3 - Created a Group of Users for Item Level Targeting e.g LHUsers_PRN01
4 - Assigned Print permission to this group on LHUsers_PRN01
5 - Created a GPO and used preferences to map printer LH_PRN01 to LHUsers_PRN01
6 - Logged in with the user to test.
but i get the following error.
But when i try to connect this printer manually from the client machine it shows installing drivers and connects to it without any issues then what i did this.
7 - Assigned Everyone Print permission on LH_PRN01
And now when i login the printer is mapped so i don't understand why does the mapping not work when using Security Group instead of everyone, please suggest.
Note: Print Server is Windows 2008 R2 Standard and the client machines are Win7 Professional & Enterprise all 64bits.
