Hello,
Our environment consists of a central Head office running several 2008R2 domain controllers and 4 Branch offices running 2003 R2 domain controllers.
Clients are mainly Windows 7 32 bit workstations and laptops.
this article http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb727029.aspx describes extending the Schema for wireless and wired group policy.
I have created group policy for WiFi access points in the Head office and Branch offices, this enabled users to automatically contect to the Wireless network without having to enter any details into their machine, it was all transparent to the user which is what I wanted to achieve.
They seem to work fine in most cases. Recently I became aware that some users did not connect to the wirless networks and did not seem to get the group policy.
When running gpresult on the effected machine which is in a Branch office I found that the Users group policy related to WiFi settings was not being applied and when looking at the group policy on the Branch office Server 2003 R2 machines the settings for Windows 7 users were not present in the Policy I set up called WiFi Settings.
I found the article referred to above and was wondering If I needed to run that proceedure to extend the Schema on the 2003 Machines?
will this have any detrimental effect on the 2008R2 machines?
Running commands like repadmin /replsum /bysrc /bydest /sort:delta and gpotool /gpo:WiFi Settings find no errors at all.
Not sure how to proceed.
Any help appreciated.
