Internet Explorer Internet Settings & Internet Explorer Maintenance (Preferance Mode)

2008R2 DCs @ 2003 functional level.

I have a web-based application published via Citrix which requires that I set the following setting for all users:

Under 'Internet Options' --> 'Browsing history' --> Settings (button) ... This then displays the window labeled 'Temporary Internet Files and History Settings'

On this page there is an option for 'Check for newer versions of stored pages:

I have to set this to 'Every time I visit the webpage' and set the 'Disk space to use (8-1024MB) ...' to [250].

I've also tried to set the 'History' to keep 0 'Days to keep pages in history'

The places in the GPO where I've attempted to set this are:

In Preference Mode ... not to be confused with GPPs

  • User Configuration
  • Policies
  • Windows Settings
  • Internet Explorer Maintenance
  • Advanced
  • Corporate Settings
  • Temporary Internet Files (User)
  • *edit: the above setting does not show up in the GPMC when viewing the policy Settings tab

Then again in Group Policy Preferences:

  • User Configuration
  • Control Panel Settings
  • Internet Settings
  • (here I created 3 preferences to govern "IE8", "IE7", & "IE 5 and 6")

The settings are not taking affect at all.  I've done a GPUPDATE /Force /boot on both citrix servers and the users & computers I need this to work for are added to the 'Scope' tab in 'Security Filtering' Section of the GPO in the GPMC.  What am I missing?

I don't want to manually do the change in my test user's session nor mine, since that is only going to take affect for that user's session(s).
