Hello,
I have a big problem with GP I currently have a brand new domain with about 50 windows 7 and about 50 windows 8 computers all of the windows 7 computers are taking about 30 min to logon and sometimes to turn on and once they are logged on they operate extremely slow for about another 30 min. the windows 8 computers turn on and login with no problems in about 30 sec. the first thing I did was enable Verbose messages on about 4 of the windows 7 computers and I noticed they were all getting stuck on "Applying System Settings" or "Applying User Settings" so I had ran gpresult and noticed that The W7 computers are using DC2 (Secondary) instead of DC1 (Primary) to download the policy. so I went about using the nltest /dsgetdc:<FQDN Domain> command to see what the closest DS was and it showed DC1. I don't know if that has anything to do with how GP handles the server it downloads the policy from but even if it did all of the computers and servers are on Netgear gigabit switches that are all configured correctly. The primary DNS is set to DC1 and Secondary is DC2 both servers are Windows Server 2012 and the domain functional level is Server 2012. DHCP is also running on DC1. All BPA problems are solved on all servers. and I did investigate the Event Logs on the client end (Below) which did not provide useful information. Have also tried reinstalling the OS from scratch but problem arises after about 4 restarts. If anyone has any solutions please let me know.
