I'm having some issues applying folder redirection via GPO to VDI machines. I have one policy which applies to 2 separate OU's one containing physical and the other VDI machines. The policy applies fine to the physical machines, and the majority of the policy applies fine to the VDI machines, apart from the folder redirection.
It redirects the Desktop and Favourites, but will not redirect My Docs, Pics, Vids and Music. As mentioned the exact same policy applies fine to my physical machines, and all locations are redirected. Both the physical and VDI machines are built from the same base image so there are no differences between the two. There are no errors in the error log, and gpupdate /h thinks that the settings have been applied fine.
I am redirecting using the %homeshare% variable for each of the folders i am trying to redirect. Desktop points to %HOMESHARE%\My Documents\Desktop, Favourites to %HOMESHARE%\My Documents\Favorites, My Docs to %HOMESHARE%\My Documents and Pics/Vids/Music are set to follow Docs.
We are running a Windows 2008 domain, with Windows 7 clients.
Any suggestions on what could be causing this would be gratefully received, i am currently toying with hacking the library files and user shell folders on my VDI template to get around this issue.
