I have printers being deployed through Group Policy Preferences. I've enabled Point and Print and such. 90% of the time, it works fine, but occasionally, we'll have a computer or two that will login and sometimes one, are sometimes all of the printers that are being deployed will not be there. We'll reboot the machine and they'll return. We have multiple locations, staffed by non-IT people. When a printer fails to add, they get very grumpy.
I'm adding them in GPP as "Update" or "Replace". My DC's are mixed 2003 and 2008 (depending on the location, have this problem with both), my clients are all Windows 7. The printers are shared printers that are hosted as tcp printers on my print servers.
Any pro's have some ideas as to what could be causing this? I have a feeling its inconsistent domain communication, but I need a way to deploy these so they map 100% of the time.
