If I have a Windows 2008 R2 print server set up with several print shares installed, if I want users to be able to browse the particular shares on that printer I can point them to a UNC path of "\\servername" and they'll get a list of shares from that server that they can right click and connect to.
I'm trying to create a shortcut to that share for them using GPO's and it will not create it. Instead it gives the following error:
Group Policy object did not apply because it failed with error code '0x80070002 The system cannot find the file specified.' This error was suppressed.
My guess is that it wants a \\servername\sharename format. Yet this is not how the list of available print shares are accessed. Perhaps there is another way, but I'm not aware of it.
