Mandatory Profiles not loading

In my current job we are thinking of moving to mandatory profiles but during testing we can not get them to work.

I have set up the mandatory profile on our file server with the share path \\servername\mandatoryprofiles\mandatorytest.v2
In AD under the user profile path I have placed \\servername\mandatoryprofiles\mandatorytest
The permissions on the Share are, Authenticated users-Read, Administrators-Full control.
The original profile was created on a reference machine, set up to our needs and then copied to the server share where the NTUSER.DAT file was loaded into regedit to add the permissions then unloaded and renamed NTUSER.MAN.

Now every time I log on with the account I get a temporary profile or sometimes it says "the user profile could not be loaded"!

Need help desperately it's driving me to insanity!!

I have read and used the following guides and forums but none seem to work of us!
